Lisa Higgins Therapy -

My Approach

Healing happens through connection, insight, and practical change. My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized to each person’s unique experiences and goals. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space where you are truly heard — without judgment and without pressure to be anyone other than yourself.

I integrate evidence-based techniques with compassionate conversation to help you better understand patterns, manage stress and emotions, strengthen relationships, and build healthier ways of coping. Together, we work at a pace that feels comfortable while creating meaningful and lasting change.

Therapeutic Methods - Therapy is not a one type fit all approach - I work with you to determine what is bringing you to therapy and what approach might work best. Therefore, my work draws from several therapeutic modalities, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - Helping you recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, and self-doubt,

  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy - Encouraging present-moment awareness and emotional regulation to reduce overwhelm and create greater balance and clarity,

  • Solution-Focused Therapy - Identifying and then building on the strengths you already have, and then identifying practical steps toward positive change and achievable goals.

  • Psychodynamic Insight - Exploring deeper emotional patterns, past experiences, and relationship dynamics that may influence patterns that are present in your life today.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy - Some stress plays a valuable role in your life, but sometimes our mind hooks on to those thoughts and creates feelings of discomfort. Through ACT we will learn to identify the “helpful” thoughts from the “not helpful thoughts” and learn how to accept or not listen to those thoughts.

Areas of Focus - I work with individuals experiencing:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Parenting burnout

  • Adult ADHD struggles

  • Relationship challenges

  • Self-esteem and confidence issues

  • Burnout and emotional overwhelm

What You Can Expect

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Some people come seeking coping tools and immediate support, while others want deeper self-exploration and personal growth. Our work together will be tailored to your needs, goals, and comfort level.

My goal is to help you feel more grounded, resilient, and connected — both to yourself and to the life you want to create.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing, growth, and emotional well-being.
